The venue for the 2015 summer school will use the Moreton Morrell campus of Warwickshire College. This is a revisit to Moreton Morrell as the 2003 summer school was also held there. The campus is level, compact and self-contained. It provides plenty of teaching rooms suited to 'wet work' and a range of teaching accommodation which allow us considerable flexibility, including the post-mortem room with its deep sinks, stainless steel tables, floor drains and ... horse skeleton!As this image shows, the areas around the teaching rooms offer lovely spaces for relaxing and a spot of spinning.
For those wishing to stay on campus there are three different options available, offering a sliding scale of prices, from en-suite single bedrooms to camping on site.
Travel to Moreton Morrell

If driving: The college is sited close to the Fosse Way and M40 (use map above to find directions).
There is ample free parking on site for residents and non-residents. Students are also encouraged to car share through their guilds. (We are exploring the setting up of a private online liftshare event for the Summer School, let us know if you would be interested).Use Sat Nav postcode: CV35 9BP
By rail: Local towns Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick all have rail stations. A taxi (one way) travelling on a Sunday from Leamington Spa station to Moreton Morrell College should cost c.£18 (£22 for larger taxi). There is a taxi rank at the station.
Minibus from Leamington Spa station: The college will run a minibus service from Leamington Spa Station (local rail link) on our behalf on the main arrival and departure dates (16th, 17th, 19th, 22nd and 23rd). The times that this service will run will depend on demand so students will be asked to complete a short form indicating their travel plans. This will help us to determine at what times to offer this service. A small fee (no more than £5 each way) will be charged to cover the cost.
By air: The nearest airport is Birmingham. You can catch a train from Birmingham International Station to Leamington Spa. We expect to offer minibus travel from Leamington Spa station on main arrival and departure dates (journey time 15 mins). We may also be able to collect from Warwick or Coventry coach stops. Please enquire if you need travel advice.
Residential catered accommodation
The college offers on-site accommodation in single bedrooms arranged in small blocks near to teaching areas. There are several bedrooms suited to students with accessibility needs. Please let us know if you require one of these when booking.
En-suite: The 156 en suite bedrooms each share a small lounge and kitchen area with 8/9 other rooms in the same block. These are the newer student rooms.
Shared flats: In 64 ‘older style’ rooms students have a sink in their bedroom and share a shower and toilet room with 1-2 others on the same floor. There is a small seating/kitchen area for each ‘house’ (shared by two flats, i.e. 4-6 students).
Camping: Near to residential blocks is a camping field offering glorious views and basic facilities. Campers use the Sports Hall changing rooms for toilets and showers (open 24/7). There is a chemical waste disposal point but no electric hook-ups. If choosing the camping option please contact us for further information.
Non-residential: Day students are welcome and invited to attend all evening events as well as classes. (See below for information about meal arrangements).
Companions: There is no formal programme during the day, but those staying on site are included in evening social activities and can join the Wednesday visit. Companions’ catering excludes student packed lunch.
Refreshments Packed lunches (Mon-Sat) and meals at social events (Tues & Sat) are provided for all students. Breakfast and evening meals are included in accommodation price (unless camping). Meal tickets for breakfast (£4.95 per meal) or dinner (£12.50 per meal) can be ordered as extras if not part of your accommodation.
